Ida’s Valley Primary originally carried the name “Idasvallei Laerskool”. Known widely as “Primêre.” Some clarity is still needed about the early history of the school. However, what we are able to confirm is that the AME church buildings were used to start the school. The date on the official school flag and school emblem is 1941. We understand that this date was when the school was registered as a school.
Our origin from a church building determine that we still live out the values and norms of a church and an old community. The school has also bound itself to develop each and every learner to the best of his/her abilities in order to create a more prosperous generation for our community. It is because of this that our learners are known to excel in high school as well as at university. What is most impressive is however that they generally turn out to be excellent parents.
It is a given that we live in a technological era and that schools need to be prepared for this. The school therefore strives to be on the forefront where technology is concerned. We have absolutely devoted educators and parents have learned to support the school. As a result of this, I have hope for a bright future for our school.
With more than 900 learners from Stellenbosch and surrounding areas attending our school, we will have to stay relevant. In an ever changing technological era, we will stay connected in order to pursue our goals stronger than ever.
